Crop PDF

Crop PDF pages to custom dimensions — trim scanner borders, extra whitespace, and uneven print margins.

Crop boxes vs. printing

Cropping a PDF sets the visible/print box — it does not magically resample pixels. Use it to hide scanner black edges, letterhead margins you do not want, or slides with too much whitespace before printing or flattening.

How to Crop a PDF

  1. 1

Upload one PDF (forms, scans, or a slide deck). The cropper works in your browser.

  2. 2

Set the crop rectangle. Match left/right margins if you are trimming hole-punch gutters, or tighten all four sides for a scanned receipt.

  3. 3

Apply the same crop to every page when the scan stack is consistent, or preview page-by-page when margins drift.

  4. 4

Download the cropped PDF. Print a test page before a long run — printers still honor hardware margins even after the crop box is tight.

When cropping helps

  • Strip black scanner borders so a home printer does not scale the page down to “fit.”

  • Even left/right margins before booklet or duplex print so gutters look intentional.

  • Cut unused footer whitespace on lecture slides so they fill a phone screen or projector frame.

FAQ

Does crop delete the original pixels?

The crop box hides content outside the rectangle for viewers and most printers. For a permanent trim, flatten or reprint after you confirm the margins. Keep a copy of the uncropped file.

Why is my print still showing a white border?

Desktop printers cannot print to the physical edge. Cropping the PDF will not remove hardware unprintable margins. If you need edge-to-edge, use a print shop with bleed, or scale slightly oversize (knowing content at the edge may clip).

Can I crop different pages differently?

Use page preview and adjust when scans were fed crooked. A single stack of same-size office scans usually shares one crop.
